What is power to leaders?

It is definitely not about crushing someone’s spirit. It is not about taking someone’s sense of self worth away from them. It is not about triggering self doubt.

If you are powerful, you are likely steering a ship full of responsibility. These people may get off at the next port or may choose to go along with you till the end of your journey. What do you want them to think of you or feel about you when they choose to disembark or are encouraged to leave your ship?

Is it warmth and affection that you seek?

Is it respect and admiration?

Is it fear and loathing?

The above will drive the culture of your workplace. Any culture can drive success. Can the culture you create build bonds of trust, integrity and pride?
